It seems that the demand of big watches are ever rising ever since Panerai started the rave wave.....so much so that it is getting abit ridiculous nowadays......u have watch companies making 55mm pieces ???? That is a belt buckle ! Those that rich old ah pek wore in Chinatown.......
At that size even a blind man could tell time !

So I took out my 2 pets & re-examine them !
The Patek 5065 & the Blancpain gmt trilogy both at around 38-39mm in diameter
watch casing about 40-42mm
In terms of finishing no one can match the big 4 !
Patek,Breguet,Blancpain & AP ! (Swiss made only)
Yes I am comparing sport watches made by Patek & Blancpain..........
So who is the winner ???
I like the simplicity & light feeling of the Patek,actually i do not really like rubber strap but the 5065's bracelet is horrible ! Hollow & ugly !
So the tropical strap is just right,it is both matching & comfortable,
And of course it is the first Jumbo size Patek sports watch with 3 hands plus a date
fuction !
So it is really worth it ?
........................yes it is worth every penny ! i like this better than the 5167 because as the dial is a lot nicer & more 3 dimensional
What about the Blancpain then ?
The finishing of Blancpain is abit better than the AP ROO the X-33 bracelet is one of the best,smooth & comfortable sits nicely on my wrist.
The dial is the highlight of the entire watch as the anti-glare coating on the crystal is amazing thus making the dial looks exceptionally sharp !
The twin barrels gives the watch a power reserve of 4 fxxking days ! And it is automatic ! WoW Wee !
Plus a gmt fuction cool ! Retail at $18,000 compare to 5065 at $24,000 !
It is a steal ! Especially if you get preowned ones !
Do you feel that the watch is abit small ?
Well if you wears a Panerai or AP ROO everyday,you will take a week or so to get used to it but once you get used to it you will love it !
